Immune System: How prevents viruses

The immune system does a fantastic job of defending the human body against disease-causing micro bacteria and viruses in the external environment. This is a system that works in tandem with various parts of the body, not a single entity. The interaction of this system is that if a pathogenic factor enters the body, it identified as a stranger and neutralizes its energy. If someone has a weakness in this system, they are more likely to get infected by pathogens.

Parts of the immune system & how it works

Foreign substances that enter the body are called Antigens. When the antigen enters the body, the immune system identifies it and interferes with its function. This process happens in our body unconsciously.
The white blood cells, also called Leukocytes (LOO-koh-site), are the main contributors to this process. These are the immune system’s cells, and there are two primary components. The first type is called Neutrophil (NOO-truh-fil), and the other type is Lymphocyte (LIM-fuh-cytes). Each kind has a specific function.

Neutrophils (NOO-truh-fil)

“Neutrophils,” the first of these, provides an immediate response to an infection. In the case of an infection, neutrophils are warned by a specific chemical compound in the body. Then Neutrophils travel through the bloodstream to the desired location and block the invading particles. These cells account for 55 – 70 percent of the total white blood cell count. The lifespan of each neutrophil is less than a day, so bone marrow continually produces new neutrophils.

Lymphocyte (LIM-fuh-cytes)

The second primary type, which is Lymphocyte, has two other subtypes. Those are T-lymphocyte and B-lymphocyte.
T-lymphocytes are also known as T cells. They are originated in the bone marrow and grow up in the thymus. If simply explain the function of the T cells, they can act against body cells that have already been infected by a pathogen. They also have the capability of working against cancer cells.
B-lymphocyte the second subtype of lymphocytes, which also plays a significant role in protecting the human body from infections. These are also called B cells. In a virus or bacteria infection, B cells become plasma cells that produce antibodies to fight them. Antibodies are a type of protein produced by those transformed plasma cells. These proteins act to block the invasion of human body cells by pathogens. They can also kill those invading pathogens. These antibodies last a long time in the body. Therefore, they remember past infections and go to a quick action if the body re-infect with an antigen. So, these B cells play a significant role, like security soldiers in the human body.

What can cause the immune system to weaken

  • Poor Diets – Lack of proper nutrition is one of the main reasons for this.
  • Smoking – Cigarettes contain over 4,000 chemicals.
  • Excessive alcohol
  • Stress – Stress can lead to heart disease, and it impedes the balance of internal organs.
  • Medications – Over medications weaken your immune system.
  • Lack of hygiene
  • Dehydration
  • Obesity
  • Lack of sleep

How to boost your immune system (3 significant things)

Diets

The immune system protects the human body by fighting off invisible enemies from outside. So, just as strength is essential for a fighter, the immune system also needs to have good power. The function of someone’s immune system may vary depending on the amount of nutrients that their mother receives during pregnancy. Scientists have long recognized that people who have malnourished are more vulnerable to infectious diseases due to immune system weaknesses.
The first food a baby receives is breast milk, which is also an excellent immune to early childhood. However, a balanced diet can improve the health of this system, even if there is no specific diet recommended for that.

Quit smoking

As mentioned above, the immune system works in tandem with various parts of the body. So, smoking may cause to impair the functioning of this system, because it lowers the level of protective antioxidants in the blood. Also, the immune system is less effective in combating the pathogens that cause cold and flu if smoke. Therefore, avoiding smoke is one of the best ways to keep the immune system healthy.

Reduce your stress levels

Although people seem to care less about stress, this is one of the main reasons for weakening the immune system. Chronic stress can lead to heart disease and cholesterol. So, these medical conditions also impede the balance of the body’s systems. Furthermore, cholesterol causes to reduce the level of “Prostaglandin” chemical in the body that helps to build up the interaction between cells during immunization. Therefore, maintaining a minimum level of stress leads to the proper functioning of the immune system. Practicing activities such as yoga meditations are suitable for this.
